This is just a theoretical question,
but what happens when mania is treated
with resterpine ? - a plant compound that
increases monoamine oxidase activity
and lowers the tertiary amines.Linkadge

Wonderful deduction!
I believe it was used for both bipolar disorder (mania) and schizophrenia before the advent of the phenothiazine antipsychotics.
