Hi Denise,
I guessed by your experiences that you were from the uk, the experiences are similar to mine.
Only a country with a system that could facilitate Shipman would allow some of these dafties we have to practice.
The advice you have above is very sound, two months especially at the dose you are on is long enough to know if a med is helping or not.
I think you are right to try another psychiatrist,
you might want to post on the net if anyone has had a good experience with a uk one.
I cant recommend the one I saw, he told me reboxetine had been taken off the market, it wasnt , it never has been, but by golly they dont like it when you suggest ( as gently as possible}
that they may be mistaken in this instance.
The key in my view is if they are willing to work with you and not just on you, my gp is, but it took me a long time to find him!

Glenn,

Yes you guessed right. I wish sometimes I lived in the States they seem to be so far ahead in these things. I've managed to find another Psychiatrist near me, I've spoken to him on the phone and he seems really nice, he actually he said he thinks it's good when patients do their own research. My present psychiatrist is always pretty dismissive of any suggestions I make, he treats me like a mischievous child. I told him about this site and his reaction was sort of "well what do they know". Having said that he is passionate about what he does and is always encouraging.
