How do you know whether or not to have ECT? I've read some of the feedback from people who've had it (of which there is very little) and they either say that it saved their live or that it ruined it. It seems such a huge risk to take. I would have it without a shadow of a doubt but I'm not afraid of dying whilst having it I'm more afraid of having no memory and being even more depressed.

Have you ever read Martha Manning's book, Undercurrents. If you haven't, try to get a copy.
She's a psychologist that fell into a wicked depression and had ECT. You'll laugh out loud, it's a great book but also educational.

Thanks Phil, I'll add that book to my list.
