Celexa is better for me than Zolimp; I'm sorry, Noloft..Zoloft. A lot better but I take 4 drugs total which include Wellbutrin SR and Adderall XR.
Lexapro could be better but I don't get my hopes up, so to speak. I hope it's a great drug.

Is there any hard data on which SSRI has the least effect on libido? Is Lexapro really any different?

Hard data, hmm. I've heard Prozac is best with Celexa second, but it's a toss offxxup.

Not being a psychiatrist could mean this is good info. Nolimp 50mg-Celexa maybe 10mg. Very hard to A/B SSRI's. Noloft 50mg-Lexapro 3-5 mg.

Good luck....Phil

Phil - If you don't mind my asking, why do you take Celexa as opposed to prozac, for instance? Prozac did very little for me, and zoloft, as an adjunct to WB Sr. made me feel like my heart was going to jump out of my chest. Both killed my sex drive. Does Celexa seem to work a little differently? I've always assumed that since it was an ssri, I'd just have the same side effects.

I think that Lexapro might be worth a shot. Celexa is good for anxiety. It has sexual side effects but its not the worst SSRI in that regard. Lexapro hits the US market next thursday (Sept 5).

Your wife takes 50 mg Zoloft which is the amount that people are usually started on. The starting dose for Celexa is 20mg, generally going up to 40mg. For Lexapro, the dose is 10mg to 20mg. Maybe your doc would want to start her on 10mg and see how that goes.

Another alternative is to leave her on Zoloft and add Wellbutrin to help offset the sexual side effects. Wellbutrin might also help with her fatigue.

Thanks for the advice.

We are aware of the Cel-Wel combo, but reluctant to add another med.

She is also on Neurontin for her fatigue and fibromyalgia, and it seems to be helping.

I read on the weekend that Neurontin is being prescribed off-label for anxiety, so perhaps over time she could come off the SSRI's entirely and just take the Neurontin.
