My mother is experienceing severe insommnia.
She is 52 and is a bipolar and is currently
taking the following:Lithium 750 mg
Depakote 635 mg
Thioridazine 100 mg
2 Lectipam 3mg each
2 Temazepam (Restorol 30 mg each)She has been taking the Restorol for 18
years, (she has obviously developped a tolerance)
She again is not sleeping (3-4 hours a night)
She is shaking and has knots in her stomach,
her mood cycles throughout the day. Lately
she has been taking a third Temazepam which does
help but obviously in the long run. Raising the
Lithium does help the insommnia to a certain degree, but then she says she can't comprehend
what people are saying to her.Any and all suggestions are needed.
Thank youLinkadge

Has she had her lithium and depakote levels taken recently? Some of her symptoms may be a toxicity reaction. If I were her I would want a medical problem ruled out as the cause-before meds got tinkered with. You mentioned shaking (tremor) and knots in the stomach. It might be worth an ER visit.Mitch

When a doc is on holiday someone will cover for him/her. Consult this person.
