It's totally safe. There are no interactions between benedryl and an SSRI.

Benadryl is a poor sleep aid. You wake up feeling not so great. It won't interact with an SSRI though.
Check out
http://www.gnc.com/health_notes/Concern/Insomnia.htm-Don't mess around with 5HTP or Halcion. If you decide to take melatonin, only take .5 to 1 mg each night. You really don't need much. Talking to a doctor about sleep problems would be a good idea, but try to be informed on the issue before you see one. Don't let them prescribe you a benzo.
