Hi to all,
in these last few months i became to hate the people that stay near to me.
The better i know them, the most i hate to have them around me!
I'm unipolar deppressed.
What is this? Social phobia?
Which are the most used meds in this case?
Celexa? Effexor? Paxil? or other?
Thanks very much for your help

__________________________________________________I don't have an answer for you, but would like to say that I suffer from this also. When I'm feeling low, or irritable, I have harbour a disdain for those close to me, and shun them unnecessarily. I guess it falls under that old cliche, you hurt the ones you love. I don't know what caused it, but it's not good.

Well, I wish the answer was easy..but you may have to try a few different meds. I really think that when we get depressed and hate ourselves, we hate others. (Esp those close to us, because they remind us so much of ourselves.) It's simple to put on a 'fake' smile to strangers, but we can't fool those close to us.
I don't mean to make it sound simple...as I still suffer from social phobia fairly bad, but try to focus on your 'symptoms'. For example..if your anxiety is really bad...talk to your doctor about that. If your depression is worse in the morning or in the evening..mention that. Sometimes getting a number of these things out of the way can really make a dent in our 'total' depression.
Best wishes..
Jay
