Posted by dazer on May 11, 2002, at 10:46:13

Every other Ad didn't work at all, but xanax seems to help me a lot: more energy, attention, less anxiety, higher mood....a.s.o
On Ad (ssri, tca,...) i had lot of sexual side effect so i stopped with them.
Xanax seems not to give this kinda of sex s/e, but which are common side effect of it?
What exepriences could you share?
Many thanks for your help.

The only two I can think of are fatigue (which seems to not affect you) and dependency.

Hi Dazer - I've been taking Xanax off and on for some time now, and the main side effect is sleepiness. I mean, I know with any tranquiliser you're going to get dozy with it, but I just fall asleep all the time - any time, any place. It can get quite embarrassing! My husband gets quite annoyed with me. I sometimes wonder if it's worth it. It relaxes me, sure, and helps me with the panic attacks. But the other night I was lying across the bed eating a bowl of cornflakes (yeah, I know, it's a strange thing to do just before bedtime, but I like a bowl of cornflakes before I go to sleep, 'cos it helps me relax!) Anyway, I fell asleep with my face in the bowl of cornflakes. Luckily I had finished most of it, or I could have drowned in the milk!!

I would like to find something to help me with panic attacks that doesn't make me so sleepy.

Not much help to you, I'm sorry, but that's the only side-effect I've experienced - if you can call it a side-effect. I hope you get some more useful responses!

Lisa
