Hi
I've been on Effexor XR for a week now for GAD and have seen improvement right away. However, among tolerable side-effects such as nausea (gone after 2 days), sweating and insomnia (improving), I am also experiencing sexual dysfunction (abnormal ejaculation - delayed) and am wondering if there is hope that this will pass with time.
Has anyone experienced this before ?
Thx
Butterfly

Many people experience sexual side effects on Effexor XR as well as on SSRIs.
The problems may go away after a while (usually it can take several weeks for side effects to subside). Otherwise, after several weeks, your doctor could augment the Effexor XR with Wellbutrin SR. It helps with many of the side effects of Effexor.
In a nutshell: your experience is in the norm and yes, something can be done about it if it doesn't get better. And this side effect goes away anyway once you stop the medicine, once your treatment is over.- sid
