I have bipolar and when I drink it triggers depressive episodes which usually last for days. Do any other bipolars experience depression after they drink?

Hey Friend,
I can usually drink for 1 or 2 days, but more than that and it induces a depression. BTW, how is the Serzone working out? Are you still on that med? Is the dystonia OK?
Best Regards,
John

Yeah, the morning after I drink I actually feel better... ironic, of course. I mean, I might have a hang-over but my mood is up. However, 2 or 3 days later I get really really depressed. I've decided not to drink for awhile and haven't had a drink in 6 months or so.Jon

I do not have first hand experience, because I am not bipolar. However, I know, not well enough to intervene, a woman that is, and drinks 24/7. She has had a drinking problem for years, and I cannot imagine it helps her condition. She did lose her husband when he was 36 years old to cancer, (5 years ago) and she is raising their 2 teenage sons alone now. However, in a fog.
I can't imagine how hard this must be for her and those boys. I would avoid it if I were you. It can spiral.
This is the end of the thread.
