hello,
I take Epival 1000mgs BID and have done so for 2 months. I think I am stable, but I am very deppresed, I have been on paxil, prozac, zoloft, effexor, serzone, manerix, and wellbutrin int the past; none worked except zoloft and paxil (worked amazingly) but years ago they just stopped working at any dosage.
my question is this: Is there a specific antidepressant that works well in combination with epival where a person has 'treatment resistant depression'?

If you respond to Epival that may be an indication that you will respond to mood stabilizers. The next step would be to try adding carbamazepine because it has more evidence documenting its efficacy in mood disorders than gabapentin or lamotrigine.
This is the end of the thread.
