Has anybody here got any experience using a Neurologist to treat mental illness? There is a subspecialty within Neurology known as "Behavioral Neurology." Behavioral Neurologists are Neuro docs who specialize in the treatment of psychiatric illnesses.
Ive tried to find one where I live (North Carolina) and I havent been able to find one single Behavioral Neurologist. Not even at Duke. They are extremely rare is my impression.I like the idea of using a Behavioral Neurologist to treat my depression problems because a Neurologist thinks of mental illness in a different manner than the typical psychiatrist does. These doctors are also good for figuring out medication problems Ive read.
So anybody ever used one before? Experiences?
