Anyone have any input in the difference between these two? Other question is, how long does the dopamine blockade last? just for the night, say if you take it at night?

Geodon has more antidepressant qualities in SchizoAffective-Depression, due to its venlafaxine-like double reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine. But patient compliance with Geodon is affected, because it must be taken 3 times a day (relatively short half-life). When I tried Geodon I found that I needed to take it 3 times a day for maximum antidepressant effect.
Seroquel is respected by psychiatry but its sedative qualities are well-known (due to its histaminergic affinity). But the convenient part about Seroquel is that it can be taken all at bedtime--despite what the PDR says--to minimize daytime sedation. I took up to 600 mg at bedtime.
