Friends,
Would you say that it is common to get agitated and restless by AD's? It's not unique to bipolars is it?
I can experience depression relief, but somewhere in there I get this SSRI/Effexor agitation that has some negative feeling aspects to it. I wonder if that is like a mixed state or if it is just commonplace with these drugs. I should know by now by I don't.. Please give your thoughts..

Scott,
I'm not sure about bi-polar. I have not been diagnosed as such. I can say that SSRIs have brought on greater restless legs syndrom and greater bruxism. I know that these are related to anxiety for me. I know that OCD is an anxiety disorder.
The pdoc just added 1mg of Klonopin to be taken at night before I go to bed. This has worked really well and I have no anxiety during the day. I think that there is enough left in my system to carry over to the next day..
Well, best of luck.

I definitely get restlessness and mild agitation from effexor (and paxil before that). That is one of the reasons I can't tolerate higher doses of the effexor. For me, balancing it with serzone helps a great deal, but doesn't rid me of it altogether.
Sometimes the physical feeling of restlessness and agitation also takes on an anxiety feeling. I guess it depends on how my mood is.
