Elizabeth? Lorraine? Jane?

Do any of you know what's going on with Shelli and why she hasn't posted lately? I know she was going through a tough time switching meds and I am concerned given the tenor of her most recent posts of several days ago.

I spoke with Shelli on Sunday night. She was not doing well, but she does have a close friend who has been helping her and she has been calling her family and therapist for support. Her message on her business phone today says that she is in the hospital, but that it should only be for a couple of days (hopefully). I have been impressed with Shelli's coping skills generally and I really think that she is ok. I do share your concern about her condition generally. I think that she will check back in with us when she is able to.

Just got a note from Shelli--she is in the hospital and her parents are taking her to another hospital. She is not in good shape, but she is doing the right things to take care of herself.

Lorraine - Thank you for the continued updates. Shelli and i have been emailing one another this fall and when she abruptly stopped, I figured (hoped) she had gone into the hospital. It was nice to have that confirmed although of course distressing to think about what she's going through. If you have a better way of getting a note to her than email, please pass along that i'm thinking alot about her.

mair, i'm really sorry that I couldn't write. I got taken to the er in md and they sent me to a hell hole for three days. then i stopped at home for a little while and got out a short note to lorraine then my parents drove me to u of pennsylvania hospital where I am now. they brought my lab top today, which explains why i am typing with one hand. I'll maybe catch you on psb. i should have never gone off the oxycontin because my mental state was deterorating on methodone. i just hated my doctor so much that i didn't want to be totally dependent on him for oxycontin or methodone. when i terminated with him, he totally screwed me--just withdrew me with cubes of buphrenorphine which didn't help. So that's how i got to the er (my friend thought he was doing the right thing to make me go), and then into a forced hospitalization by ambulence.

I know you have to be in better shape than me--but I hope a lot lot better.

Shelli:

I'm sorry things have been so rough on you. What a tough journey the last few weeks have been for you. I hope your road becomes easier. I am in a downhill slump myself right now, taking it day by day.

Thanks Lorriane. I am also thinking of you. I'm sorry that you've taken a downward slump. I have a feeling that both of our horrible depressions have to do with perimenopausal symptoms. I'm at my parents taking enough pain meds to just take the edge off and stay alive. I have not heard from the d.c. doctor who promised he'd call between 8 and 9 pm, so that is a real disappointment. We'll both get through and look back at this horrible time; I know it will happen.

Shelli
