Effexor- weird feeling when I look around, Help!

Posted by Christian on December 8, 2001, at 20:04:52

I was on Effexor xr up to 75mg for about 3 weeks, and I found the side effects to be absolutely unbearable.
I felt extremely uncomfortable and began to believe I was going crazy, and the most scariest side effect I have ever encountered is this weird feeling in my eyes when I look around, which carries on all day long. I have been off the drug for 21 days but the sensation in my eyes still hasn't left, it is there everyday. I am scared to death, somebody please help me.

That's what we Effexor veterans call "brain swoosh". I usually only get it when I don't take my dosage on time, or when I've decreased dosage in an attempt to wean off of the drug.

If your side effects have lasted this long, are consistent, and are at the point of scaring you, call your doctor and let him/her know about it! Maybe Effexor isn't right for you.

In reply to OFF EFFEXOR 3 WEEKS, THE NIGHTMARE CONTINUES, posted by Christian on December 9, 2001, at 20:29:00

It's not forever, but withdrawal symptoms can seem like they go on forever.

One thing I've heard of people using for Effexor withdrawal symptoms is Benadryl. I don't know if that will help with what you're experiencing, but it might be worth a try.
