Remeron is a great drug, and it has worked great for me, but I am wondering how potent is its serotonin component? From my experience, it kicks in really quick, and works well for a while, but if I drink or do drugs it suddenly stops working as well. I've been clean for a month, and it's still just not the same. My guess is that its mechanism of action causes an initial build-up of Serotonin, through antagonism of certain receptor groups, but it is really slow to rebuild the Serotonin later on [such as in the case of drinking/drugs]. Should I go off of it completely, and then start over? Should I augment with a more powerful serotonin agent like Paxil? I take 60mg of Remeron a day for depression and anxiety. Thanks guys.
This is the end of the thread.
