New to this site, was searching effexor and found you. I have taken just about every thing there is ...paxil, celexa, zoloft, Remeron, Serezone, Risperdal, and now lets introduce EFFEXOR ER to my diet. When i first started taking it I had some serious anxiety attacks. And the swooshing sound in my ears about drove me nuts. I take 300 mg in the morning along with Neurontin, Vicadin ( which does nothing anymore) and something for my stomach cause i have an ulcer.
I read alot of the posts and it was so refreshing :) to see that I am not the only one wondering about this drug and the possible withdrawl.. It seems like I need to up the dose and I have 75mg, and 50 mg, regular that I could take in the afternoon, but i don't know what is safe. I am having a fairly good day. Sorta foggy. Medium Pain. open for suggestions. Although my doctors agree that I need a stronger med for the pain none are willing to write the script...go figure.
They say you don't have cancer and aren't dying... hmmmm wonder if they realize I feel like dying. Sick of hurting.. Write Back k?

I'm not sure what type of pain you are having, but have you ever tried a muscle relaxant? I've had success with baclofen. I also found "advil" good for some pain but can't take it anymore because of my stomache. Perhaps you could try it? I also have a prescription for tylenol with codeine, but have considered asking for just the codeine. Taking tylenol steady can give me headaches, I think they're similar to rebound headaches.
I don't use the tablets with codeine often, but when I do I find it helps and I wake up from a refreshing sleep which is rare for me. The dose doesn't need to be high. Have you asked your doctor for a referral to a pain clinic? Or even considered changing doctors? I did and it really helped having a doctor I trust.
