Fellow depressives,
Last December, I began to experience a low grade fever which dragged on for weeks, accompanied by abdominal symptoms. Blood tests and abdominal CT scan were negative...I was pretty depressed at the time and began to suspect I was having fever as a depression symptom...Doc put me on Effexor + Remeron and fever, abominal symptom and depression all cleared up....a miracle!
Unfortunately after a few months, Effexor started wearing off, like all the other meds I've tried...I've been on about 14 different meds and combinations since 1988...
Now, fever and abdominal symptoms (irritable bowel) and depression have returned...I was somewhat relieved to find some posts here from 2000 where some other folks had experienced similar body temp changes.
IT is really difficult to go to work and drive to classes...I wish I could get in to see my p doc. Next appt is on Oct 12 and he doesn't seem to be able to get me in earlier. I can;t seem to find a p doc in this town without a month long wait for appts.
THis forum is wonderful. I appreciate the thoughtful posts. I have been reading off and on for a few months but this is my first post.

Maybe you want to look into possible CFS/FM.
Best,
