In reply to Effexor withdrawal -suggestion (nm), posted by laurenl on September 5, 2001, at 11:56:24
I have been on 117.50 mg of Effexor for 2 years. Four months ago I started to reduce my dose. I succeeded in getting to 37.5 at the beginning of month three, with zero side effects. A few weeks ago, I tried going to zero and had severe physical side effects (brain shivers, vertigo, disorientation, fatigue). I went bak on the 37.5 I then decided to gradually reduce from this point. Essentially I am gradually reducing the grain count in each time-release capsule. On days 1-5 I removed 4 grains. On days 6-10 I removed a total of 9 grains. I am now on day 15 on a total reduction of 12 grains from the 37.5mg capsule, with zero side effects. Talk to your doctor before trying this. I just want you to know that it is working for me so far.
