SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by good4u on May 17, 2001, at 17:14:21

I get extremely sleepy during the day. I work at a call center, and even when I get a decent amount of sleep, I am drowsy. however, I only get truly, truly sleepy when I have to concentrate on things in which I have no interest. And while driving home at the end of the day. It is a huge struggle to stay awake at these times.

I fall asleep in the middle of phone conversations with clients (at a call center, the phone calls come to oyu and you just answer calls all day and troubleshoot for the clients).

Do I have a form of narcolepsy? I curently take 100mgZoloft and 500mgDepakote @ 10 pm every night. Can the medication be causing such drowsiness even into the following day?

You could switch to the new Depakote _ER_, which would minimize daytime sedation.

If you feel that the medicines you're on right now work for your depression but you still cannot function properly, perhaps you can ask your doctor about adding a prescription wakefulness agent like modafinil or pemoline. This often augments the antidepressant qualities of your SSRI too.
