Effexor side-effects - sleep

Posted by mtm on April 30, 2001, at 18:12:17

Has anyone had difficulty staying awake during the day,
esp. in the morning, while on Effexor-xr. I take 225mg
in the morning and after a couple of hours I can't stay awake. Sometimes this goes on all day. Same thing
occurred while on Wellbutrin and Effexor. Doc says it's
related to the ad but I have my doubts. Thanks

You can take the Effexor XR all at bedtime to minimize daytime sedation, since it has more than a 24 hour half-life.

ACK! Again, I KNOW I answered this post, but somehow my answer just isn't there. :(

I'd said, yes, it's not the morning, it's just a couple hours after taking it, whenever that happens to be. For me, I was taking it at noon and falling asleep from about 1:30-4:30 every day. Now I'm moving it back so I can take it at bedtime and sleep thru the worst of the side-fx.

It's very weird that you had that on Wellbutrin, tho. Usually Wellbutrin is a upper not a downer.
