I used to could run a mile no problem...now 1/4 mile and i am just about ready to pass out... anyone else know if there is a link to the drugs? thanks rogdog

Rogdog: figure it out yourself. Prior the drugs, you did a mile ... after the drugs, you can barely do 1/4. Unless you've started smoking massive amounts of cigarettes, the obvious conclusion is that, yes, the drugs have something to do with your physical exhaustion.
Take up knitting.

Maybe tranylcypromine or moclobemide would be better medications for you, as they have less drowsiness.

Parnate, a MAOI interacts with the adrenergic & serotonin systems & may decrease exercise tolerance. This interaction is complex.
as maximal exertion can be affected, a different type of exercise is probably indicated, that does not require major increases in cardiac output.
Walking or bike riding are possible substitutes for running.

YES!
Hi Rogdog.
When I took Nardil (60md/day) by far the most troubling side-effect was intense muscle fatigue, particularly of the legs. Mentally speaking I was no more 'tired' than usual, but climbing a flight of stairs etc. became a major effort. Unfortunately this unpleasant side-effect did not remit with time and was not induced by the (many) other ADs I have tried.
I think it's like Kazoo says; if this phenonomen coincided with starting the Nardil then the Nardil's probably to blame. I didn't get this effect on Tranylcypromine or Moclobemide.
Jah.

I had this effect short time also with starting effexor it also was intense enough to make it difficult to stand up from sitting in a chair. This was during the first 3 weeks.
Then it resolved.
This is the end of the thread.
