I have been on 45 mg of Remeron a day for a year. Doc changed my meds today. I am now taking 30 mg of Remeron and 150 mg of Effexor XR every day. I've heard a lot of bad stories about Effexor and I am hoping some of you can put my mind at ease. I'd like to know if there are more good things about Effexor than what I've read. Is it addictive like what I have read? Is anyone else taking the same two meds that I am and how has it helped? The only thing I have noticed today is being hyper and not being able to shut up from talking.

No AD's are addictive. I've taken this combo for years with great benifit.
It is considered to be a big gun, very effective.James

This is my third day on Effexor and Remeron together. I am sleeping better at night. My mouth is always dry but hey I can drink water. I am still hyper and I want to talk non stop. I've read so much bad stuff about Effexor that I am scared. I have tried so many other meds but so for these two are the best out of them. I loved Paxil but my family didn't. I had an attitude of not caring about much. I tried Serzone and I liked it but it didn't do enough for me. I tried Wellbutrin and it made me very sick. I tried Lorazepam and all it did was make me sleepy. I tried St. John's Worth and I had an allergic reaction to it. I've tried other aslo but can't remember all of them. Doc wanted me to try Prozac but I refused.
