Effexor Withdrawal

Posted by Terry Lynn on August 25, 2000, at 22:19:34

I also have stopped taking Effexor(150mg 3x's daily) In addition I was taking Tegretol, and stopped taking that as well.I did so at my own discretion and haven't spoke with my Phyciatrist yet. I too have been experiencing withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, numbness in lips and hands, and diarea. It has been a week now and am not feeling any better. I am upset I was not warned this could happen. How long will I be sick from this?

Next time go on a careful program with your doctor. I am currently undergoing a 13 week coming off ZOloft program. Five years ago I was on ZOloft for 4 months and went cold turkey that time. It was nasty I tell you - headaches, sweating, you name it !

I know what you mean about going off Effexor or any other anti-depressant, should definatly be done under Dr. supervision. I am doing it on my own, I wouldn't advise that to anyone. After 2 weeks I'm still very sick from the withdrawals. I am currently trying to detox with herbal remedies. I feel this is helping.
