I JUST STARTED EFFEXOR A FEW DAYS AGO. (HOPEFULLY IT WILL WORK) HOWEVER,NO MATTER WHAT I TRY THERE IS STILL THE USUSAL LACK OF MOTIVATION. AFTER READING ALL OF THE MESSAGES RE: ADRAFINIL I STARTED LOOKING INTO IT. I HAD TRIED RITALIN AT ONE TIME AND EVEN CUT IT INTO QTRS BUT FINALLY STOPPED IT ALL TOGETHER. IF IN THE FUTURE I SEEM TO THINK THAT ADRAFINIL ,IGHT BE AN OPTION WHAT WOULD BE THE STATING DOSE. I SEE THAT IT COMES IN 300MG BUT AS SOMEONE SAID EARLIER START SLOW. IF ANYONE IS STILL TAKING IT WHAT ARE YOUR DOSAGES? I'M 6'2 190LB. NOY GETTING IT YET BUT PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE.

Dash,
I've seen two conflicting reports on Adrafinil. One says normal doses are 300mg to 600mg. The other says 600mg to 1200mg.Personally I found 300mg to be perfect. Actually I think I could even get away with splitting it into 150mg per day, or maybe 300mg every other day. It has a very short halflife, but I don't think that matters. Because the binding it does seems to last quite a while, regardless that the initial dose washed out long ago. Anytime I've stopped Adrafinil the effects of it seem to continue for about two days before deterioration sets in.
There's no way to tell if it will work with you or whether your chemistry will like it. But it's so cheap there's nothing to lose in trying it.
Even for someone who isn't depressed it has benefits. It can make a passive person more active. And a quiet person more talkative. It's not at all similar to the high a normal person experiences when taking amphetamine for example. But if motivation, lack of interest, and stuff like that are your problem symptoms, the low cost of Adrafinil makes it an attractive candidate for trial.
