I was just reading, on medscape, an interesting, but small, study on melatonin use for discontinuation of benzo's and insomnia. The melatonin proved considerably good for both conditions.

"Sustained-release melatonin facilitates discontinuation of insomnia treatment with benzodiazepines in long-term users, according to the results of a study published in the November 8th issue of Archives of Internal Medicine."
