I read on WebMd that SSRI's were sometimes used in the treatment of "premature ejaculation". I was curious as to what some of the recommended SSRI's would be for a bi-polar patient with hyper active A.D.D tha is also suffering from premature ejaculation. I was in the Army for a period of time and don't know if the rumor is true about the use of "salt-peter", but did notice a drastic change in stamina I guess you could say. I Have tried all the techniques that are normally suggested with no luck. Is there any help for something of this nature?

> Luvox, Celexa, and Paxil all caused anorgasmia in me, so I bet they would either help with the premature ejaculation or cause anorgasmia (hopefully the former).

The only medication that seems to help that doesn't cause anorgasmia for me is Serzone. It gives me more energy, makes me feel more confident and less hopeless, and does not cause the unfortunate sexual side effect that most of the SSRI's have done. (Either it's the Serzone, or just the relief at being off the SSRI's and being able to pop my cookies again!)

Personal choice for a man with sex issues is Prozac in the 10mg-20mg range. Maybe even just 20mg every other day or three days or so. Doesn't cause me numbness like all the others. Lengthens encounter but with full sensitivity and an awesome finish. For the ADD Wellbutrin has been used sometimes instead of a Ritalin or something like that. Prozac alone might do the trick, as any AD tends to "stabilize" things. I would think a conservative dose of each would be a great way to approach the symptoms you mention. The risk, if bipolar, is hypomania. Watch for it early on and be aware. Try Prozac but keep ritalin or wellbutrin in the back of your mind for a possible addition if needed. Just my thoughts.
