I would love advice from anyone who has experience with either lithium, and/or any of the newer anticonvulsants (neurontin or lamictal)in treating depression. That appears to be the next step for me, to use one of them as an augmentation strategy to add to my hefty cocktail of effexor, serzone, ritalin, synthroid, and cytomel. How does one decide which direction to go in? From what I read here, they are helpful for folks with up and down moods. Do they work for chronic depression?

I was on lithium with first prozac then zoloft. It provided some relief even at 300mg ... unfortunately, I couldn't tolerate any higher dosage so I had to chuck it for something new.
