I want to take the new Ortho Tri-Cyclen birth control pill to help keep my hormones level in order to clear up the dreaded monthly acne breakouts associated with my period. However, I have taken Effexor for almost three years now (with success) for chronic depression. I am afraid of the mood alterations that come with taking birth control and wonder if this will throw everything out of whack. Will the Effexor already in my system counteract the depression causing effects of the hormones? Has anyone had experiences with these two combined together?
