And another thing...what about Effexor and sex? I've
heard such mixed results about it. I've heard that it
effects sex WORSE than other ad's, but I've also heard
that while the climb to orgasm can take a lot longer,
once you get there, it's very intense. Whereas with the
SSRI's, orgasm (for me anyway) is just sort of "ok", not
very high quality. A friend of mine who has depression
took it after being frustrated by Paxil, said that at
75 mg's it didn't effect her sexually at all, but that
when she moved up to the standard therapeutic dose, she
became anorgasmic, but still had a drive (which to her
was an improvement over paxil where she could care less).anyone have any reports/feedback on what sex was like
on Effexor?

In reply to p.s. And what about Effexor?, posted by kate on July 16, 1999, at 7:42:49
Effexor has caused a certain amount of anorgasmia for me, which has gotten worse as the dose has increased. It's not as bad as Paxil was for me, this time I can have an orgasm, if I don't mind working hard for a while, while on Paxil it just wasn't there without a ton of special effects in terms of techniques. Don't ask.
Since I have no partner right now, this is all based on toys and appliances, but instead of a five minute playtime, it takes about 20 minutes. Most days, it just doesn't seem worth it. But again, this is just me, only with appliances, and not nearly as bad as Paxil was.
This is the end of the thread.
