i've been taking effexor for a couple of months now and have been doing better with very little side effects.
However, my father has recently become very ill and i find myself becoming incapacitated... all sorts of old stuff surfacing, can barely function, & eating out of control again
would upping my dose provide any relief or must i just go through this? i am currently taking 150mg XR ionce a day
i'm scared
thanks...
regards,
v

Dear scared.....I've been thru the same thing....a stressful situation knocks a hole in a otherwise well controlled mood problem. Even a un depressed person would go thru some problems if their dad was not doing well but for those of us with existing problems the bottom is a lot lower. Take comfort that this kind of thing happens to us depressives. Call your doc to get the OK on taking a higher dose of Effexor...that sounds like the reasonable thing to do. Most doc's will OK a dosage change via the phone.
